Catalyst Sports is excited to partner with Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts (MORE) to include a 5-mile and a 20-mile adaptive ride in the MoCo Epic. The Moco Epic is a 2-day festival celebrating mountain biking, trails, and the community that makes this region a great place to ride. The festival links natural surface trail systems together, creating a supported, "epic" off-road bike adventure for beginners through experts with routes ranging from 5 to 100 miles. MORE has been making adaptive friendly routes throughout their trail systems, opening opportunities for adaptive athletes to join the festivities. About the Adaptive Rides: 5 Mile: This is a CASUAL paced ride through flowy trails winding through old fields, open woods, and scenic stream valleys. Your adventure starts out on the Hoyles Mill Trail and heads to the White Trail Loop in Schaffer Farm. This is a lollipop route, and the loop can be done more than once for a ride 4-8 miles long. This is an Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Ride with light technical challenges along the way. Expect to be out on the trail 1.5 - 2 hours. Route 20 Mile: This is an ADVANCED RIDE with a little bit of everything - flow, rocks and technical, challenging climbs, woods, and secenic vistas of Little Seneca Lake. Your adventure will take you through Hoyles Mill Trail, up through Ten Mile Creek, and into Black Hill Regional Park, at which point there will be a pit stop/aid station. After a break, you will head back on the Diabase Trail. There is an option to cut 3 miles off the 20-mile ride by removing that northeast loop in Black Hill Regional Park. Expect to be out on the trail a minimum of 3-4 hours. Route Both these rides are for experienced riders only. You must have participated our adaptive clinics and rides, or have ridden with another adaptive group, or have experience on your own adaptive mountain bike!
