Description
Do you own an adaptive bike and want to have more opportunities to ride with our Western North Carolina (WNC) bike community? Join the Cognative MTB Monday night group ride on your adaptive bike and shred with the crew!
-Time: The ride starts promptly at 6 PM, so please be ready to roll at that time.
-Location: We will be riding from the Guion Farms trailhead in Dupont State Forest.
-Mileage: +/- 10 miles
Catalyst will have a couple of trained aMTB volunteers on hand to provide support if needed.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Catalyst will not have any fleet bikes onsite for this ride. Please bring your own adaptive bike.

Essential Eligibility for Adaptive Mountain Biking

Rider has a permanent, disabling condition
-
Rider can make safe cognitive decisions in a fast-paced changing environment.

Rider can follow all safety precautions identified by the instructors.

Rider can hold their head upright without any head and/or neck support.

Rider can wear a properly fitted and rated bike helmet, as well as any other safety equipment appropriately.

Rider can understand and follow multiple-step instructions from the instructors independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Rider can transfer in and out of the bike independently or with some assistance

Rider can remain alert and focused for the duration of the ride and can make decisions quickly in variable terrain.

Rider can demonstrate they can independently peddle, steer, stop, start and ride the bike over, around, up, and down a variety of terrain deemed appropriate for their experience level.
Volunteer Requirements:
-Volunteers must be age 12+ and have completed adaptive mountain bike training.
-Volunteers should bring own mountain bike. Anyone aged 12-15 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
-All volunteers should know & abide by the land management rules regarding use of electronic assist bikes
