Advanced aMTB Weekly Group Ride - McKeldin Patapsco Valley State Park - ATHLETE

What to Expect:

• Adaptive Athletes will ride together with other riders for up to an hour and a half on over 5 miles of mountain bike trails.
• The ride will be led by an Adaptive Mountain Bike Instructor and there will be at least one other adaptive ride volunteer accompanying the ride. 
• Riders will meet in the Pavilion 576 Parking Lot. Let the ranger at the entrance station know you are with the adaptive ride. Follow the signs and stay to your right, past the basketball courts, all the way to the end of the road.
• The Adaptive Instructors will be there at 5pm for New Volunteer Training and to get the bikes ready.
• Ride starts at 6pm.  Please arrive ready to go no later than 5:40 pm , so we have time to set you up on the bikes.  
• The weather can be unpredictable and we always respect the trails.  Should we have to cancel the event due to weather, we will make that call by 1pm the day of the ride. You will be notified by text or email.  There is also the possibility that the event will be cut short if it rains. 
• We are doing our best to accommodate everyone.  Expect that you might be on a waiting list several times before a bike becomes available, as there are so many riders and only 3-4 bikes right now. 

Things to Bring:

• Full Water bottle  (There is a water fountain by the bathrooms near the basket ball courts on your way in) 
• Snacks/Energy Bars
• Helmet is provided but feel free to bring your own
• Protective Eye wear/Glasses : A limited supply of clear plastic glasses are available for you to borrow
• Any Personal Medications Needed for Emergency:  Insulin, Epi Pen, Inhaler
• Optional Sunscreen and Bug Spray
